Archive of Mahrous Afandi Bseiso, a Palestinian entrepreneur and landowner in Beersheba who meticulously documented his records and land deeds before Beersheba was ethnically cleansed in the 1948 Nakba. Bseiso sought refuge in the Gaza Strip, along with many of his extended family, who became important leaders in diverse aspects of Gaza’s life, culture, and politics. Spanning the years 1906-1977, the collection contains business records, receipts, land deeds, maps, and photos. The Bseiso Family Archive is an important tool for researchers of the social history of Palestine, the history of the Gaza Strip, Beersheba, and the impact of the Nakba on Palestinians.
