American Evangelicals’ Declining Support for Israel

Analysis by Jonathan Kuttab examining the gradual decline in American Evangelical Christian support for Israel and Israel's organized campaign to reverse it. Kuttab traces the theological foundations of Christian Zionism that have made Evangelicals a backbone of US political support for Israel. He argues that Israel's conduct in Gaza, rising Palestinian Christian voices, and "America First" political views among right-wing figures have played a significant role in a generational erosion of support for Israel.
