Palestine Open Maps is a repository of historical maps with interactive features that allow users to layer maps, view depopulated Palestinian towns, and more. Useful resource for researchers of Palestinian dispossession and the Nakba, allows Palestinians descending from ethnically cleansed villages to view maps featuring their original towns, villages, and cities. This project was initiated at Impact Data Lab, a workshop organized by Visualizing Palestine and Columbia University Studio-X Amman. The app is under continuing development by Visualizing Palestine with support from others. This source is valuable for research on ethnic cleansing, Israeli expansionism, the Nakba, Palestinian villages and towns, and historic Palestine.
