After a series of significant BDS victories in 2015, Roxanne Perugino identifies concerted efforts to ban BDS activism and penalize actors for boycotting Israel at the federal and state levels. At the time of its publication Congress was voting on an AIPAC-backed bill included in the Trade Promotion Authority Act (TPA) that called on European trade partners to not boycott Israel. Importantly, this piece references historical attempts to penalize companies for boycotting Israel in 1976 and 1979.
