UNICEF report documenting the beginning of a comprehensive damage assessment of Gaza's water and wastewater infrastructure following the October 2025 ceasefire, in coordination with the Palestinian Water Authority and Coastal Municipalities Water Utility. Over 2 years, UNICEF and partners were only able to ensure the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) system did not fully collapse, with water output falling by 80% in parts of Gaza after a desalination plant was knocked off the power grid. The Gaza City desalination plant, with a capacity to produce 10 million litres of drinking water daily, was completely destroyed. Recommended for water and sanitation researchers and infrastructure engineers as the foundational technical assessment of Gaza's water and wastewater damage at the moment that the October 2025 ceasefire created the first opportunity for comprehensive evaluation.
