This index, a collaboration by the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ) and the Palestinian Ministry of Local Government, measures and promotes budget transparency at the municipal level in Palestine, ranking performance by measuring the availability and accessibility of financial information to citizens. ARIJ evaluated 30 municipalities across the West Bank in 2018 and 24 in 2020.
