West Bank

The West Bank is a geography carved out of historic Palestine due to the 1948 Nakba and Israel’s mass displacement of Palestinians. Since 1967, Israel has imposed the longest-running military occupation in modern history over the West Bank. Home to over 3 million Palestinians, all aspects of daily life are impacted by Israel’s occupation, from checkpoints blocking their freedom of movement, to risk of violence at the hands of Israeli soldiers, to administrative detention, violence or property theft from Israeli settlers, the systematic denial of Palestinian human and political rights, and beyond.
